Be True to You

"Be true to the law of your own being." I really don't know who first said it, but I love that quote. There is so much heartache in the world because we try to be true to someone else's law. I was chatting with a friend once when she mentioned in passing that idleness was the greatest sin in her eyes. We didn't know each other very well,  so she didn't know my battle with mental and physical health. To me, rest is crucial. Busyness is counterproductive not to mention destructive to my well-being. But her comment doesn't offend me. In fact, I realize it was just a little peek inside her soul. She and I simply have different ways of measuring achievement and different priorities. That's a good thing! We have an individual mission to fulfill. We all have different passions for a reason. As long as we all are trying hard to follow our own God-appointed path, then there's no need to worry that our friend's path looks different than our own.
